Airbag inflators and gas storage tubes are automotive safety parts: the closure must be gas-tight, pressure-resistant and consistent from part to part. A welded end cap risks porosity and a heat-affected zone; a plug adds a joint. TD-31040 gradually spin-forms the tube end into a one-piece dome with no seam, and the wall thickens at the closure.
| Tube OD | Ø10–40 mm |
| Wall thickness | 0.8–2.0 mm standard; other sizes evaluated by sample |
| Materials | Carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium; good ductility required, seam welds must be sound |
| End form | Fully closed dome, or centre hole set by tooling |
For an overview of closing methods for pressurized tubes, see How to close a tube that holds pressure.
Does the closed end need welding afterwards?
No. The dome is formed in one piece. Leak and pressure testing follows your own specification; we can supply sample parts for testing.
Can a centre hole be left?
Yes, the hole size is set by the tooling.
How do I send samples?
Give tube OD × wall × material × length and a drawing of the closed end; we close samples and return them.
How do I request a quotation?
Email your drawing and requirements to sales@tdco.com.tw.
